Unlike the first two postings, I will be discussing the value sets that I actually purchased my self— Lashstash To Go and Beauty Oil Essentials! Lashstash is a sample set of five mini size mascaras plus a certificate for a full-size version of your favorite. Beauty Oil Essentials (sadly discontinued) is a kit of 12 must-have oils with formulas uniquely designed for face, body, hair, and lip.
Without further due, here’s the picture for Lashstash To Go.

- First thing I noticed was the shape of brush; the hourglass shape is in between skinny and fat-- very unique! It gives noticeably voluminous effect and dries fast. The final look was quite natural with one coat but easily became spiky and clumped up with additional coats. Love how it curls and curls and curls my lashes! My only disappointment is that I detected subtle smudges under neath my eyes at the end of the day (probably 8+ hours), but it wasn't too bad.

- With my blindfold on, I can detect any mascaras from L'oreal. How? from the SMELL! I hated using L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara in every single way because it has horrible plastic smell, hurts my sensitive eyes, and clumps so badly in just one coat (million lashes? more like three lashes on each eye!) . Hypnose Drama, fortunately, is quite different compared to Million Lashes; it lengthens my lashes beautifully with natural finish, and does not easily clumps. However, I still sensed that horrendous smell and some smudges and clumps around my eyes.

- Confession: Tarte is one of my brand biases because I'm attracted to how they are conscious about environment safe and animal cruelty. My bias however does not affect my opinions towards this product and I can honestly say that it's a great mascara. The 4-in-1 Mascara has smallest and skinniest brush among the five, giving me more control to use. I can bring this as closely as my lash lines without making my eyes water, and the moderate volume and lengthening effect makes it best for daily uses. Although it's not a waterproof mascara, I barely noticed any smudges! Just a few of my complaints are its subtle but weird unnatural scent and the very wet formula which takes forever to dry. This mascara performed the best on me, so I ended up using the full size voucher for this.

- Don't know why, but big fat mascara brushes usually don't work well for me. This was not an exception; in fact, the plastic bristle actually irritated my lashes a bit. Other than being a fat brush with plastic bristles, this is absolutely a decent product when it comes to volumizing and curling.

Voucher for full-size featured mascara: at least $18 value (Bare Minerals)
Total Value of Lashstash: $81.34 Sephora’s Claimed Value: $65
My favorites in order: 1. Tarte, 2. Too Faced, 3. Lancome, 4. Blinc , 5. Bare Minerals
Verdict: Interestingly, my calculation exceeds sephora’s marketed value. I’m guessing they excluded the value of the voucher (which is at least $18 worth if you were to get the bare mineral). I enjoyed sampling various kinds of mascaras and comparing different brush heads. But as far as formulas go, it's a little disappointing--most of them had wet formulas and none was waterproof. I intend to keep purchasing mini mascara sets in the future because the deluxe size actually allows me to finish the product before it gets all dried up, and I find that much economical and practical.
