Things you'll need: a good quality sturdy paper, a tweezer, pressed flowers, and a super glue.
To make pressed flowers, simply pick any flowers you'd like (from your back yards or flower shop), place them into a fold and put heavy weighted books on top of them. Leave them for 7 days and let the gravity pull out moisture from the flowers.

Step 1: Make the frame. I intended to gift this to my friend Laura, so I shaped the grass string like a letter "L." Don't worry about the stains from superglues, they could be easily hidden by flowers later.
Step 2: Assemble & layer the pressed flowers and leafs. Not only this step gives you an idea about the final picture but it also allows you to freely change and modify the look.
Step 3: Gluing. Using a Super Glue and a tweezer, lightly glue the pressed flowers & leafs in order from largest to smallest ones. To make them look more like 3D and have that "pop up" effect, glue only parts of flowers (like little bit on each petal)photo taken under yellow lighting |
Completed!
- If you'd like to put this art piece into a frame, choose one that would not squeeze down the flower. (otherwise it will ruin that beautiful 3D like effect!)
- Also pay special attention to the spaces from edges of your frame so that they do not interfere with your art work.
This easy craft idea could be a special yet inexpensive gift to beloved ones, or great to fill up some empty walls. If you liked reading this post, please give it a try and let me know how it turns out for you!
