This DIY idea was inspired by this beautiful phone case from SOULPOT STUDIO. It was love at first sight but I couldn't justify paying $56 for a phone case, so I decided to make my own.
Things you will need:
I picked up thin, transparent TPU cases for iPhone and Galaxy s5 off on eBay. They are inexpensive, transparent, and shockproof, perfect for do-it-yourself project like this. Unlike transparent hard plastic case, TPU case also covers all four surroundings of phone.
It fits Galaxy s5 like a charm, but the one for iPhone is pretty sad. If your phone is Galaxy s5 I'd recommend this particular case, but look for a better quality case if yours is iPhone!

- marble printed contact paper
I personally prefer white/grey marble patterns over yellow/beige marbles; after some web surfing I ended up getting this contact paper from Amazon. Sigh I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. It's disappointing that the printed pattern is a lot softer than I expected (only if I could use Instagram editing tools like 'sharpen' or 'contrast' in real life to make it look more vivid and clear... it would make my life much easier). Plus the adhesive power is just so-so. Nevertheless this is just my personal preference and I'd still recommend it as it performs its job as contact paper.

- a scissor
it really helps if you could get a good pair of sharp scissors. I used my kitchen scissor.

On the back side of the contact paper, trace the outline of your phone, facing it down.
Step 2: Cut the traced line
Using a good pair of scissor, try to cut the outline as closely as possible. Once cut, put the contact paper back to the phone case and see how it's fitting. Trim accordingly, if needed.

Step 3: Trace the holes
This step requires a bit of attention. (!) Once the outline's trimmed, we need to cut holes for camera, microphone, earphone jack, and charger. One thing to keep in mind is that it's easy to switch around and cut the wrong side of the holes.

As you can see the photo left, I traced the holes on the back of contact paper while facing it upward.
Here comes my big mistake revealed. I end up realizing that microphone and earphone jack holes on the left side should have been on the right side instead. :(
Basically you want to make sure that the drawings on the back of contact paper lines symmetrical to the pre-cut holes on the case, if that makes any sense. Here comes my big mistake revealed. I end up realizing that microphone and earphone jack holes on the left side should have been on the right side instead. :(
Because of my stupidity, now my phone looks like its has two holes on its cover. It does not look too obvious on my white Galaxy, but it would be a different story on a black one. Once you double check that the inner holes you've traced line up perfectly with the case, you can move on with the Xacto knife!
When you're all done with inner holes as well, simply peel off the contact paper and stick it to the back of your phone. Finally put the transparent case on your phone.

Although the marble pattern is not as beautiful nor true looking as the one from SOULPOT Studio, I'm actually quite satisfied with the result of these phone cases. I'm going to start dressing up my laptop, notebooks, and many more... because I love everything marbles. Comment down below if you're into marbles like me. :)
