Sephora's Favorites Value Sets 2014 | PART I: SummerStash

Value is a funny thing because it’s all subjective. Even if everyone raves about one particular item, but if I am not interested (or even dislike) , that item would have no value to me. 

Nevertheless, Sephora Favorites has come up again with some value sets this year, and I wanted to calculate if each kit is really the value that sephora has claimed— because honestly each kit sounds amazing, and if that’s the case I’d be killing two rabbits with one stone.

So here we go,

Let’s start with Summerstash— A multibranded collection of nine sample-size, warm-weather must-haves.

Total value of Summer stash: $82.89     Sephora’s claimed value: $123

Verdict:  Now, I don’t know where Sephora came up with $123 (don't tell me the bag is $40, Sephora), but $82.54 is certainly not close to what they claimed. Still, considering that most items in this kit are deluxe sized and that they included both classic and new products (i.e. Nars’ Laguna and Josie Maran’s Gelee, respectively), this kit would serve you a good opportunity to either test out some new products or to carry around your old favorites in your makeup purse.
