My first ever cleansing conditioner, which has blown my mind and eventually hooked me into the world of cleansing conditioner! This 3oz bottle has only lasted me about 3 weeks for my medium length hair and seeing how quickly I used this up, I will probably not repurchase it anytime soon. But I really did love this product when I had it for making my hair voluminous and healthy. For a more in-depth review on this cleansing conditioner, please click here.
A trusty mascara when I want defined lashes all day long. When I was at Mitsuwa (my faaaavorite local Japanese supermarket, which I think I should do a blog post on), I was initially going to get Kiss Me Heroine Long & Curl mascara. But Dolly Wink, a brand I have heard of for their eyelashes, had mascaras on sale for $16 (20% off). Though I ended up walking out with it in doubt, now I'm so glad I did! As a fiber mascaras, this one has a great tendency to clump and give you that spidery lashes. I think the fact that the formula is on the waxier side makes it difficult to separate my lashes as well. For this reason, I won't recommend it for natural makeup look.
Despite the cons, I still find myself reaching for this mascara almost everyday because it truly fulfills its claim: lengthens and curls. I love how it instantly defines my eyes and holds up the curl throughout the day. Though it requires some techniques and time to get used to, it's a mascara worth checking out.

This mini size Nars bronzing powder was part on Summer Stash, and it is a must item that I always make sure to have in my makeup bag. It is also the first powder product that I've hit the pan. Though it's a bronzer, I mainly use Laguna as an eyeshadow; the light brown color with very fine gold shimmer isn't so ideal for contouring (barely showing on my skin) but is so pretty and easy to use for natural eye makeup. After primer I simply blend the eyeshadow on my eyelids a few times and then I'm good to go! With some leftover I also drag it down on the sides of my nose for extra definition. I've always been a fan of pink/purple eyeshadows but I think I'm slowly transitioning to the magnificent world of brown eyeshadows :)
I received a sample of Becca Complexion Cream from one of my Sephora orders, and I kid you not this small packet lasted me a month! It is that much pigmented and only requires a tiny bit to cover the entire face. Because this foundation is so matte, it could look cakey and would only be suitable for oily skin. A few tips on preventing cakey makeup are: 1. lightly moisturize prior to using the foundation 2. use a damped blending sponge such as beauty blender.
With the proper tool and preparation, I was very impressed to see how my redness, spots, and pores stayed concealed throughout the day. As far as colors go, I was debating between Sand and Cashmere but I ended up concluding that Sand is a closer match for my skin tone. Regarding purchasing the full size, it is actually more expensive than Double Wear (which I haven't tried), so I will probably wait until I compare both.

I love perfumes, especially when there's an interesting story behind them. There seem to be a debate about this particular perfume: some people describe it as 'one of a kind' or 'opposite sex attracting' whereas others say it's 'overpriced' or 'barely smell anything.' I wanted to find out what the fuss is all about and decided to get myself a bottle.
Because I am going to write a separate post on this perfume, I'll skip explaining about Iso E Super and etc. But here's my two cents. I think the whole pheromone perfume thing is a gimmick. I also don't think the scent comes and go. I can clearly detect the same scent on myself, as well as my mother and my friends, and the scent constantly lingers on me. Nevertheless I love this perfume because when paired with Chloe perfume (my HG), it just creates a whole new level of goodness gracious. I guess the woody note in Molecule 01 really enriches Chloe and acts as synergy. There's still lots of things to talk about -- stay tuned for my upcoming blog review on Molecule 01!

Because I have sensitive acne prone skin, my t-zone gets red in the morning, in the afternoon, at night-- pretty much all day long, every single day. It's frustrating because doctors say there's nothing you can really do about rosacea. I think my redness has gotten worst ever since I started using topical acne medications (i.e. tretinoin, clindamycin). Although my skin cleared up, redness remained.
If you're like me, don't give up on your hopes yet because 15 minutes of saline solution face mask can possibly be a game changer for you. Saline solution greatly reduced the chronic redness around my nose and chin and I couldn't be happier to see this drastic improvement. If you're interested, go check out my review here.

food
My dad received a box of this tea as a gift on his recent business trip to China, and I gotta tell you I first thought that it was fish food. Grossed out, I asked my dad why on earth there's fish food in his cup. He laughed out loud and highly suggested trying it out. Then I had my "WHAT IS THIS?!!!" moment.
Apparently it is black buckwheat tea-- just like any other grain tea, its taste reminds me of rice tea. Yet, there is something unique about this buckwheat tea that makes me fall head over heels for it. The next day I went to H-mart, a local Korean grocery market, and picked up a Korean brand loose buckwheat tea. But, alas, it did not taste the same. Call me biased but the Chinese buckwheat tea was much more aromatic and smooth compared to the Korean one. I guess I will have to ask for 10 boxes of these next time my dad goes to China.

miscellaneous
It has been snowing a lot lately here in the east cost-- imagine six feet of snow and icy streets for weeks. Terribly cold as well. But reality is we can't stay at home all day drinking hot chocolates. What to wear has been a serious daily question to myself because I wanted to get both style and warmth. Though winter boots would guarantee toasty feet, I actually gave myself excuses not to wear them because they were heavy, uncomfortable, and unstylish. It's been my Aigle rain boots that I got the most uses out of this winter. They are easy to put on and off, resist slips against ice and water, and keep my feet warm as long as I put on thick socks.
My size is EU 36 (US 5.5 or 6) and it fits true to size. I purchased mine from a British site called 'Easy Wellies' and spent about $77 (24 GBP for the boot and 25 GBP for international shipping o_o).
